I've always wanted to shoot boxing or MMA, and I finally got the privilege to attend two big MMA events in Asia this 2012. And so as a recap, I am posting some of my favorite shots from these events.
These might not be too mind blowing to others but to this humble photoblogger, these images are special and I wish to shoot more MMA events again this 2013.
And so, here are my favorites from my MMA photos of 2012. In no particular order:
☞ ONEFC CEO Victor Cui in the middle and posing for the camera the way he should-- "LIKE-A-BOSS!".
☞ MMA Legend Shinya Aoki was poker faced almost the entire weigh-ins, good thing I was able to keep it together even when I noticed his cold stare was pointed at me.
☞ And of course the very Game and entertaining Arnaud Lepont with his "book".
☞ Even this gesture is worth doing.... with style!
☞ It was a quick KO, and I got carried-away when I captured this that I let out a very loud "YEEAAAAHHHH!!!What a Punch!" as I was shooting from the Media section.
☞ Because of this, I am now a fan of Melvin Manhoef.
☞ There were a lot of beautiful exchanges between the two warriors, and shooting through the cage proved to be more challenging as I was about 7meters away from the cage (it wasn't exactly a cageside shoot).
☞ I decided to override the auto-focus when I got this shot.
☞ It was at this point that I said "Uh-oh". It was an honor to watch Aoki's display of high-level Jiu-Jitsu.
☞ To Lepont's credit, he didn't tap, so I guess that's testament to his will power to keep on trying even to his last moment of consciousness. Aoki's technique is just on another level.
☞ This is my pick for Fight of the Night at Pacific Xtreme Combat PXC 34.
So there you go. These are my MMA favorite shots of 2012. Hope you liked it and thank you very much for viewing. Appreciate the support of all those who came and visit this humble website. Hoping for your continuous support and see you all this 2013.
Finally, I'd like to thank Mr. Rustico Barrientos, One Fighting Championship, and Pacific Xtreme Combat. More Power to all of you! Mabuhay!
